Stress & well‑being assessment
Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

A stress & well‑being assessment (HRV measurement) shows how effectively your body manages stress and recovery. The assessment looks at the small variations in time between heartbeats. The greater this variability, the better your body is able to stay in balance and switch between effort and relaxation. For organisations, an HRV assessment is a valuable tool to give employees insight into their recovery capacity and resilience. It helps identify early signs of stress or fatigue and provides practical guidance to support better recovery.

How the stress & well-being assessment works

Baseline measurement

We start with a short questionnaire and an HRV measurement taken in a situation that resembles everyday (work) conditions. This provides a realistic picture of your current stress level and how your body is handling load at that moment.

Relaxation measurement

Next, you complete a guided breathing and relaxation exercise. During this exercise, your HRV is measured again.

The difference between the two measurements is often surprising and offers immediate insight into:

  • how sensitively your body reacts to stress

  • how quickly you can shift into relaxation

  • which relaxation techniques work best for you

The graphs show how much time your body spends in activation (stress), light relaxation, and deep relaxation.

Additional insight: mental and physical stress responses

Alongside the HRV measurement, you complete the 2DKL questionnaire (two‑dimensional complaint list). This provides additional insight into how stress may manifest for you:

  • Somatisation: physical symptoms related to stress

  • Distress: mental tension or feelings of overload

Together, the measurement and questionnaire offer a complete picture of how your body and mind respond to stress and recovery.

Why the stress & well‑being assessment is so valuable

  • You see objective data on how your body responds to stress
  • You experience immediately what a relaxation exercise does for you

  • You gain insight into your recovery capacity and resilience

  • You learn to recognise early signals, helping you reduce stress

  • Organisations receive valuable input for vitality and prevention policies
