Quit smoking programme

Smoking has a significant impact on employees’ health, energy levels and overall vitality. Those who quit often notice positive changes surprisingly quickly: improved fitness, easier breathing, a fresher appearance and more sustained energy throughout the day. The risk of serious illness decreases substantially, and quitting also leads to considerable financial savings. A key strength of this course is the combination of professional guidance and group support. Participants share experiences, motivate one another and increase their chances of successfully quitting.

What does the quit smoking programme include?

Before the course begins, participants complete a questionnaire. This allows the OVGM course leader to assess their starting point, motivation and any previous quit attempts. Based on this information, the guidance can be tailored to each individual’s needs.

The course consists of four group sessions and personal coaching (online or by phone). The first group session lasts 1.5 hours; the remaining sessions last 1 hour each

Group sessions

During the group sessions, participants receive:

  • Information about the health benefits of quitting smoking

  • Insight into motivation, habits and potential barriers

  • An explanation of nicotine dependence and available support tools

  • Practical strategies for managing cravings and challenging moments

  • Support from fellow participants through shared experiences and tips

Group interaction plays an important role: participants recognise each other’s challenges and strengthen each other’s motivation.

Personal coaching

In addition to the group sessions, each participant receives individual coaching. These sessions focus on:

  • Personal triggers and high‑risk situations

  • Individual motivation and underlying drivers

  • Recognising early signs of relapse

  • Creating a concrete and achievable personal quit plan

The coach helps participants put their plan into action step by step and supports them in maintaining their progress over the long term.
