Periodic Occupational Health Examination (POHE)
Insight into occupational risks as part of a healthy and safe working environment

At OVGM, we believe every organisation is unique. That’s why we offer an approach that adapts to your needs: from measuring occupational risks through a POHE to a broader health check/PME that brings together health, lifestyle, vitality, and sustainable employability. This ensures the assessment always aligns with your goals, and with what employees need to work safely, healthily, and with enjoyment.

What is the difference between a PAGO and a health check/PME?

PAGO

The Periodic Occupational Health Examination focuses entirely on the occupational risks identified in the Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E). We examine exactly those elements employees are exposed to in their work.
The purpose of the PAGO is to prevent work‑related health issues, identify risks early, and strengthen safe and healthy working practices.

PMO or Vitality Check

Compared to a PAGO, the Preventive Medical Examination (PMO) or vitality check is broader and more preventive in nature. It includes themes such as health, energy levels, lifestyle, work experience, and work–life balance. A PAGO is usually part of a PMO or vitality check. The PMO therefore covers not only work‑related risks but also factors outside the direct work environment that influence sustainable employability and long‑term energy. The aim of our PMO or vitality check is to increase awareness, provide insight, and offer practical tools to help employees work and live in a healthy, energetic, and enjoyable way.

Our PMO or vitality check always includes:

  • a questionnaire on health, lifestyle, and work experience

  • basic medical measurements (blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, biometrics)

  • a personal consultation

It can be expanded with additional measurements and/or questionnaires.

How do we align the PEHO and health check/PME?

Based on the RI&E, we determine together with the occupational health service and company doctor which elements are mandatory within the PAGO. We then identify which additional components fit within a broader PMO or vitality assessment.

This results in one integrated assessment that:

  • meets the legal requirements of the Working Conditions Act

  • and provides real added value for both employees and the organisation

What does it deliver?

  • A PAGO aligned with job and risk profiles

  • A PMO/vitality check that includes medical assessments and broader vitality themes

  • A personal consultation for every employee

  • A clear organisational analysis and company report with concrete insights

  • Practical tips and recommendations that genuinely contribute to sustainable employability and a vital organisation
